Welcome to this page on Remote Assistance this program comes with Windows XP Home & Windows Pro.

If you have any problems using the Microsoft version of Remote Assistants or you are a beginner in remote control over the internet and want a simpler version than use Team Viewer click here.

I set this page up as more and more people are connecting to the internet now and need some help setting programs up or helping with computer problems as is often the case your friend may live some way from you or every thousands of miles from you. If you can connect to the net then they can help set-up programs download them and install them for you even show you how to use them.

This page can help with catching wildlife criminals say your new to computers but you have a friend that is not they can help you set up programs that will allow you to copy from your Camcorder and record to disk or DVD using your computer by way of the internet.

As this program gives your friend total control over your computer by the internet they can copy the video in to programs like Microsoft Movie Maker or what ever program you have for editing video with it is endless what you can do with this program. You can set up any program even if your friend is thousands of miles away from you they just use there own computer to connect to you.

The first thing to do is click on the Remote Assistance icon on your desk top see photo below. If you do not have the Remote Assistance icon on your desk top then see photo 2 below this one.

2). If you don't have the icon on your desk top then click on Start then All Programs look in the list of programs if it is not in the first list then click on Accessories look in the second list if it is not there click on System tools and it should be there click on it.

3). Now after you have clicked on  Remote Assistance you will see the page below. Now what we need to do is click on Invite Someone to help you the person sending this out is the one asking for help.

Please note if you find you get a message saying Your current system settings prevent you sending a invitation when you click on Invite someone to help you then click here.

4). Now after you have clicked on Invite someone to help you now you will get the page below. You can use Windows Messenger or use a persons e-mail address like I have with my own e-mail address just to show you would put your friends e-mail address in the box then click on invite this person.

5). Now you should have this page below here you can type up the problem you are having and ask your friend to help you this will allow them to connect to your computer remotely from any where is the world as long as you are running Windows XP Home or Windows XP Pro.

 I don't know if Windows Vista has this program or not. Now after you have informed your friend to help you and said what you want help with just click on Continue.

6). Now after you have clicked on Continue you will get the page below where it says set the Invitation to expire click on the 01 box the arrow pointing down and set how may hours if you and your friend are using the net at the same time then just go to Require the recipient to use a password.

In the type password boxes type the same password for both boxes your friend must put in the same password at there end as well.

If you do not want to use a password then just take the tick out of the Require the recipient to use a password Box. Then click on Send invitation.

 

7). Now you will get this page below this is telling you that your Invitation to ask your friend for help was successful.

8). Now you will get this page below you will only get this page after your friend has opened your invitation and opened the small attachment in there e-mail now just click on Yes in the small box.

9). Now after you have clicked on Yes you will get the page below it is asking you if you want your friend to control your computer from there own computer.

Click on yes this will give them total control over your computer and they can do what they like from checking the problem setting programs up for you or down loading and installing them for you even if they are thousands of miles away.

10). Now your friend has remotely connected to your computer with the internet or home or office network they can open files or folders programs and do what they like with your computer now.

Now we will look at what the Invited person sees on there screen now just click this link I used my own home network to do this simple set-up I have all so connected to friends Computers thousands of miles away as well.
