26/4/08 Illegal snares warning. A pet dog was found trapped in one of the snares recently, although it was unharmed. Grampian Police are investigating the setting of the illegal snares, which was reported by local land managers.

16/4/08 Conservationists and police in Norway plan a campaign against farmers who have killed wolves by blowing up their lairs and putting out poisoned bait. In one recent incident, Kenneth Larsen of Hedmark University College spent a week trying to find a female wolf he had tracked before, Aftenposten reported. When he returned to his car after a fruitless search, he found that three of its tires had been slashed.

15/4/08 THE site of the first ever cull of badgers in Wales will probably not be known until the autumn. A Welsh Assembly Government spokeswoman said the announcement last week by Rural Affairs Minister Elin Jones of a cull of badgers in a pilot area signalled the start of work on various elements of a comprehensive package of measures to eradicate bovine tuberculosis in Wales.

14/4/08 On Saturday, armed Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stormed and seized Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s ship the Farley Mowat.  All of the Sea Shepherd crew were brought into Sydney, Nova Scotia by the Canadian Coast Guard late Saturday night.
