Foxes, Cats Used as Live Bait
in London Dog Fighting Circles. Police
are investigating reports that urban foxes are being caught in London then used
as bait for fighting dogs. Gangs
with dogs and nets have been spotted hunting in woodland in the Rotherhithe area
of the capital. Two
dead foxes have been found and three dead cats have also been discovered
"ripped to pieces."

Hunt protesters get police payout, Eleven anti-hunt protesters have been given
a total of £38,300 in damages from Derbyshire Police.The force made the
out-of-court settlement after admitting its policing of a demonstration in
January 2008 was heavy handed.

'Cubhunting', 'cubbing', 'autumn
hunting' - whatever you want to call it, the slaughter of 4 month old fox cubs
started in the West country over 2 weeks ago. Hunts have been out mornings at
dawn and/or late afternoons up to 5 days a week since then. They won't have
seen a police officer as apparently the police do not believe hunting starts
until November.
